Whether your home is vulnerable to wildfires, floods or other natural disasters, you want to be ready. The first step is making sure your important papers have been safeguarded — insurance policies, the deed to your home, passports, social security cards, etc.
Next, create a “grab and go” emergency preparedness kit to take with you if you need to evacuate your home. It should include things like food, water, first aid supplies, a flashlight, batteries, a radio or TV, personal hygiene supplies (e.g., toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, etc.) as well as any medications you might need while you’re away.
